Applying to universities in Turkey is straightforward when you know the process. This guide covers everything from choosing your university to receiving your admission letter.
The first step is choosing the right university. Turkey has over 200 universities, and selecting the right one depends on your program, budget, language preference, and city choice. Public universities generally cost $300–$3,000 per year, while private universities range from $2,500 to $20,000.
Next, prepare your documents. You'll need a valid passport, high school diploma with notarized translation, academic transcripts, passport-sized photographs, and the university's application form. Some universities also require YÖS scores or language certificates.
Application timelines vary by university. Most public universities accept applications between June and August for the Fall semester. Private universities often have rolling admissions, meaning you can apply year-round. We recommend starting at least 3–4 months before your intended start date.
After submission, most universities respond within 1–4 weeks. Once admitted, you'll receive an acceptance letter, which you need for your visa application. GSA Study handles the entire application process on your behalf — from document preparation to admission follow-up.
